Breakfast On The Go

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day yet we sometimes don’t always take the time to eat a nourishing meal that gives us enough energy to start our day off right.

We have all done it, hit the snooze button only to realize we have an early morning work meeting. We then grab something quick to eat either at home or on the way to work. We then eat it super fast and find ourselves starving a few hours later.

You can still hit that snooze button and make it to work on time by setting a few minutes aside at the beginning of the week or on Sunday night to prepare some healthy breakfast foods.

Here are two simple breakfast ideas to make your life a little bit easier.

Steel Cut Oats

I love oats, they are full of fiber and minerals that give you energy throughout the day. Plus they are super easy to make!

All you need is some instant steel cut oats, make sure the only ingredient is steel cut oats. No added sugars, coloring or flavors. You can double or triple the recipe and then get some mini mason jars.

Layer each mason jars with cinnamon, almond slivers, fruit – strawberries, raspberries and raisins. I also love putting flaxseeds in the jar. I then place the cooked oats on top let it cool down and then cover the jar and place it in the fridge.

Grocery List:

  • Steel Cut Oats
  • Fruit (Your Choice)
  • Almond Slivers
  • Cinnamon
  • Mason Jars

 Green Smoothies

My magic bullet is the one item in my kitchen that I use every single day. I love making different types of green smoothies. It is so fun to try different greens/fruit concoctions. The magic bullet makes it easy to take a green drink on the go, it comes with twist caps and containers. I make my smoothies at night and leave them in the fridge so they are cold and ready for me in the morning.
