Products I Heart
One of my New Year’s intentions this year was to go toxin and chemical free as much as possible. We are already surrounded by so many toxins just by walking outside every day, so I took a close look at what I was using in my daily life from cleaning supplies to beauty products. It was a fun and interesting experience. Trust me, not all products are created the same.
As a holistic health coach, I not only work with clients to help them make better food choices but we also take a close look at lifestyle choices. Being healthy isn’t just about the food you eat but everything else in your life from exercise to solid relationships with self and others.
For me, it also means taking care of yourself with the highest quality food and products to ensure your body is not full of toxins. It is hard to be 100% toxin and chemical free but you can create small shifts in your life to improve the quality of your life.
Just for you, here are a few of my favorite beauty products I have discovered this year and now can’t live without!
1. Lafes
I work out a lot and wanted to find a deodorant that didn’t have any chemicals in it but I still needed something that I could put on and trust that I wouldn’t smell when I was on my yoga mat. I tried a few different kinds of deodorant and wasn’t satisfied until I found Lafes a natural and organic deodorant. I love the lavender one. You can find this product in health stores and Whole Foods.
2. Zeeta
I love perfume so much. One of my favorite jobs was when I worked at Bath and Body Works in college. Most all perfumes are full of chemicals and with my allergies it was never a perfect match. This summer I found Zeeta Body at the South Bay Yoga Conference and I am now obsessed with their chill out body oil and lavender salt scrub. The body oil is a mixture of lavender and peppermint and it is so refreshing and energizing. I have met the owner Christine and she is amazing. She makes all of her products in her home to ensure that only the best ingredients go into them. You can find her at conferences and can purchase her products online.
3. Kelly Teegarden Organics
I have used Clinique products for years, one of my friends works for them so I was lucky enough to try out different products. The skin is the largest organ of the body and everything you put on your skin enters your body. It is super important to make sure what you put on your skin is chemical and toxin free.
I tried so many different skin care products this year, some of them dried out my skin or were to oily until I found Kelly Teegarden Organics at the BLP ConnectHer event this September. I trust Kelly and her products. Kelly is a cancer survivor who spent an entire year researching all of the organic products in the marketplace. She looked at every single item in the products and was not satisfied with anything she found. Kelly then created her own skin care line. I am happy to say that I have finally found skin care products that my skin loves. I use her anti aging facial cream, eye cream and face wash. You can find her products in Whole Foods and in her online store.
