Thanksgiving is the first of many big holiday meals this season. I want you to enjoy your holiday meals this year with your loved ones and today we are sharing how you can enjoy your favorite dishes and not gain weight this holiday season.
Here are a few of our healthy holiday tips!
- Eat Breakfast every morning but especially the day of a big holiday meal! Oatmeal, eggs or a green smoothie. If you are starving you are going to eat more than you want to during the big meal.
- Switch up the appetizers. Instead of cheese and crackers and dips put out some nuts and veggies with hummus.
- Drink tons of water today the day of and after your meal.
- Fill half of your plate with veggies and the rest of your plate with your favorite dishes.
- Eat on smaller plates and keep spaces in between the food.
- During the meal check in with your self. Am I really still hungry? Have I even tasted the food?
- Remember to smell your food and look at the colors and textures.
- Slow down and enjoy the conversations at the table.
- Please just enjoy the meal. Don’t worry about gaining weight, or wondering how many calories the meal is. If you are concerned about these things your meal is already toxic. Just remember to breathe during the meal and release those thoughts as soon as they come in to your head.
- After your big meal go for a walk with your family and friends. Moving the body helps for better digestion and gives you energy.
