I am a sun worshiper! I love the hot sun on my face and the hot sand under my toes. The vitamin D from the sun is a magical nutrient that helps improve your mood, gives you energy and balances your body.
Having fun in the sun is important. Most Americans are Vitamin D defficient because we are not going outside enough. It only takes 12 minutes every day to soak up enough Vitamin D to help your body get the essential vitamin it needs. Just be careful after 12 minutes, more or less depending on your skin tone, can lead to burns and can age your skin.
Here are some quick tips to help keep your skin and body healthy this summer.
1. Wear A Hat
- It provides enough shade to protect your beautiful face. Hats are also a super cute accessory for the beach and cookouts
2. Find Shade
- If you are going for a walk, a run or just sitting by the pool reading find a place with shade so you can alternative between the sun and shade so your body doesn’t get burned
3. Eat Your Fruits & Veggies
- Fruits & Veggies contain phyto-nutrients which help protect you from the sun’s harmful rays
4. Sunscreen
- I am not a major fan of putting chemicals on my body so I like organic sunscreens. Here is a great resource to help make your decisions!
