Healthy Hot Spot: True Food Kitchen

I had the opportunity to visit True Food Kitchen this past weekend in Santa Monica. It was such a treat to try this restaurant which I had been wanting to visit for a long time.

The restaurant was created by Dr. Andrew Weil and the entire menu is based on his anti-inflammatory diet.

According to Dr. Weil: “Following an anti-inflammatory diet can help counteract the chronic inflammation that is a root cause of many serious diseases, including those that become more frequent as people age. It is a way of selecting and preparing foods based on science that can help people achieve and maintain optimum health over their lifetime.”

The menu is full of local, organic food and was super tasty. I had the Mediterranean Salad with Quiona, feta, almonds, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and olives. My cousin had the farmer’s market salad with kale, carrots, beets, avocados and broccoli and my friend had the Ahi Tuna sliders with a huge side of Kale that looked so delicious I just wanted to eat all of it. I restrained myself and let her enjoy 🙂

True Kitchen has locations in both Arizona and California, so if you live close or visit anytime soon, I highly recommend taking time to eat at the True Kitchen!  Here is some more information: http://www.truefoodkitchen.com/
