Just Breathe

We need oxygen to breathe in order to live, yet we often find ourselves holding our breathe when we get busy, overwhelmed and stressed. Have you noticed this happening at any point in your day? Think about the last time you had something important to do, did you find your breathing to be faster or slower? How did your body feel?

One of the most important functions of breathe is to help connect our bodies to our minds, to help us calm down and reduce the stress we might be experiencing.

This week, try paying closer attention to the way you breathe. Breathe in deep breathes and release old stagant energy. Breathing right can also help with insomnia. Next time you are having trouble falling asleep, place one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly and take deep breathes in through the nose and then sigh it out of the mouth.  Notice if this helps you fall alseep a little bit easier.
