Postpartum is a time in your life where you need all of the nourishment and nurturing that you can receive. It’s a super challenging time, but if you can continue to make your health a priority, it will make a huge difference in the way that you feel every single day. Today I’m sharing a postpartum nutrition success story.
My pregnancy journey was challenging, I honestly didn’t feel well until I was about seven months pregnant, but nothing prepared me for all of the emotions and pain that came during postpartum. Because of my own postpartum journey I’ve put a bigger emphasis on helping my clients who are pregnant create a postpartum plan, and I now work with more women during their postpartum period. I also created the postpartum guide as part of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition hormone course.
Something very important that I’d like every woman to know is that postpartum is forever, so even if you’ve had children years ago, steps such as eating to support your hormones, working with a pelvic floor therapist and getting some PT can be super beneficial now. It’s never too late to support your body.
Today I’m honored to introduce you to Bridget, a mom of two boys that I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. We met back in 2014 when I helped her with her periods, then again a few years later to prepare her body for pregnancy, and more recently during her postpartum journey after the birth of her second son. I really admire Bridget’s dedication to her health and I’m so honored to share her postpartum nutrition success story.
Postpartum Nutrition Success Story
“I have worked with Katie three times now, for different reasons and each time she has helped me tremendously! Most recently, I was really struggling postpartum with my second baby. Instead of losing baby weight, I was gaining and I was tired all the time. I felt so unlike myself and I didn’t know where to start to get myself back on track. It was very different from my first pregnancy.
Together with Katie and my doctor, we identified the source of the imbalances. We worked on strategies to balance my blood sugar, support my adrenals- which were totally burned out, improve my sleep, and manage my stress better. She is so supportive and really listens without judgement. I am so happy to share that since we started working together at the end of January I have lost 15 pounds. I have way more energy, my digestion has significantly improved, and I finally feel like myself again. I wake up every morning grateful for her support.”
It’s been an incredible honor supporting Bridget over the years and I have loved watching her have more energy so she can spend more quality time with her kids and feel more balanced and calm throughout her busy work day.
