Grocery Store Tour With Katie B

I absolutely love how the universe works and introduces you to amazing people.  From the moment I met my new client we instantly clicked and I am so honored to be her health coach.
Last week I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with one of my new clients Jessica. We started the afternoon with a Kitchen Cabinet Cleanse (a very loving and kind way to look inside the fridge and the cabinets and find out if healthier options are needed)
I found so many healthy options like almonds  and spinach. It was fun chatting with her about what she enjoys cooking and what we could find at the grocery store so we could stock her kitchen with fresh and delicious food!
Here is a little note Jessica sent me about the kitchen cabinet cleanse….

Katie said she wanted to go through my kitchen cabinets. For some, this might send chills through you. That is what would have happened if she wanted to check out my closet or bureau in our bedroom. I’m pretty messy. I can’t say it was all that exciting for her – we really needed to go shopping. But I was excited to hear some of what we had was great (our ketchup!) and I appreciated learning what really needed to not be re-purchased. Katie’s approach is totally non-judgmental too, which was a relief.
After our fun time in the kitchen we drove to Whole Foods in Beverly Hills. (Just driving in Beverly Hills makes me hear the 90210 theme)

With a shopping cart in hand we started our journey and I showed Jessica all of the grocery store tricks… like how they had the baked goods front and center of the store!
I chatted with Jessica about the importance of shopping the perimeter of the store. We read tons of labels together and I educated her about making sure if something comes pre-packaged to find the item with five or less ingredients and if you can’t pronounce an item it is not good for you, so please don’t buy it!
We saw these amazing, beautiful carrots!

It was so fun to fill up her shopping basket with Kale and Swiss Chard so she could experiment with green smoothies for breakfast!
Here is what Jessica had to say about our fun shopping time…
The experience couldn’t have been more pleasant or fun. I am so grateful to Katie for showing me how to pay attention to labels, ingredient lists, and information about organic food. For the first time ever I actually was excited to go grocery shopping! It’s simple but it’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention to the things that matter most when it comes to food. Katie helped simplify even further and taught me what to pay close attention to. Less than a week into my new nutrition plan, I am loving green smoothies!! Never thought I’d say that. 🙂

You too can have this fun experience!
