I just returned from the most amazing week of my life feeling grateful, loved and refreshed.
Thanks again for all of the happy wedding wishes.
<—– here is one of our favorite pictures we have seen so far from our wedding!
My intention for my wedding week was to feel relaxed, healthy and calm so that I could truly enjoy and remember each and every moment.
To help my body feel healthy and nourished, I borrowed a blender from the hotel and went to the grocery store to buy green smoothie ingredients so I could have my green smoothie every morning.
Jim and I also spent time in the hotel’s gym every morning doing a fun workout routine and many of our friends joined us!
By giving my body healthy food and movement I had more energy so I could truly be present. Plus, it helped me enjoy the macaroni pie, one of my favorite Bajan dishes, so much more.
I always knew how important laughter was to my health but after spending a week in paradise it solidified the fact that laughter is the key to our wellness journey.
When we are so strict on ourselves we tend to criticize our body and feel uncomfortable in our own skin. Which makes us irritable, cranky and even eating our feelings.
But when we are at the beach playing, we forget the judgement of ourselves and just have fun which helps our body relax and which keeps the weight off.
You can eat more but weigh less when you are having more fun in your life.
Have you noticed that when you are with your favorite people in the world that you tend to not worry, feel stressed or anxious and time goes way to fast?
That is you being present. Think about a recent moment that you felt free and happy and now ask yourself, did I overeat or feel fat?
You probably didn’t.
Instead, I am guessing that you felt more relaxed during your fun outing and when you got home you may have noticed that you didn’t feel bloated or tired. You actually felt energized and happy.
If we were to treat our body like we were on vacation every day we could nourish our body more.
Treating your body like you are on vacation just means that you are letting go and really enjoying the moment. On vacation you are not criticizing your body, you are not calorie counting, and you are not feeling guilty about your food and life choices.
When you are on vacation, you eat dessert because you feel like it and you do not judge yourself. You actually savor each and every bite and wake up the next day still thinking about it.
When you are not on vacation and decide to have dessert the inner conversation might be one of guilt and overindulgence which in turn makes you feel bloated and you actually gain weight from your food.
Our thoughts truly do create our reality and when we are so focused on gaining weight, we actually do gain weight.
If we were to focus on things that just made us happy we would feel lighter both physically and spiritually and you can actually weigh less by laughing and enjoying life more.
Treating your body like it is on vacation might be the key to losing weight and feeling confident and beautiful in your body.
Have you ever noticed that when you don’t focus on your weight that you actually feel better and lighter?
I would love to hear if you have ever experienced this and if you have tried to make this part of your lifestyle. Please share with us in the comments section below.
