Before I knew the real secret behind having gorgeous glowing skin, I spent a lot of money on expensive make-up and anti-aging creams. I started with the anti-aging craze in my early 20’s when I honestly didn’t need to look any younger. I still get carded to this day whenever I am out and I am 34!
Once I discovered the real secret behind beautiful skin I ditched my expensive make-up and skin cream habit. I usually wear no makeup except mascara, once and a while, and only use products with no chemicals in them so mostly essential oils. I honestly get more compliments on my skin now than I ever have in my entire life.
The difference is that I now nourish my body from the inside out – not the outside in.

My Favorite Healthy Skin Foods
1. My favorite healthy skin healthy food is the Avocado. It is rich in vitamins A, D and E, all of which help maintain healthy skin. Avocado can also be used as a natural facial treatment. If you have dry skin you can rub avocado on your skin for a healthy glow. I know, it sounds strange to rub the skin of your food on your skin but it works!
2. Raw Cacao, like blueberries, is loaded with antioxidants which help your skin look young. I love real chocolate so much, you probably have heard me rave about it many times but the health benefits are endless. My favorite go to recipe for my chocolate cravings is my Simple Delish Raw Chocolate Macaroon Recipe.
3. Citrus foods are full of Vitamin C which essential for the production of collagen which helps to keep your skin elastic and prevents sagging. Add lemon to your water, eat a grapefruit or orange for an afternoon snack. An added benefit is that the smell of citrus helps the body relax and de-stress which is why I encourage the women I support to bring a citrus snack in to work. Try bringing one to work and notice how just peeling the orange and smelling that delicious scent helps your body relax.
4. Walnuts are healthy fats which help create a glowing complexion by reducing inflammation in the body and they also promote cell growth and help control the oils and fats in our body.
5. Coconut Oil has tons of Vitamin E in it which helps heal and repair skin. I put coconut oil on all my veggies when I cook, my green smoothies and I use it as a lotion on my body. I am obsessed with coconut oil, just check out this video to see why! .

6. Dark Leafy Greens – I know that I said my top five but greens are so essential to our health that I couldn’t leave greens out. Dark leafy greens like spinach, kale and swiss chard help detox the body. They help to eliminate toxins which help to clear up your skin.

Grocery List
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 2 handfuls of kale
- 2 basil leaves
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 cup of water
- 3 medium size strawberries
- 1 spoonful of coconut oil
- 1 lemon
Directions
- Wash all fruit & greens
- Toss into blender
- Serve & Enjoy
