What Are You Really Hungry For?

HungryFor-Fish
Have you ever found yourself sitting in front of the TV with your favorite snack only to reach the bottom of the bag/container way too quickly?
I am usually very mindful about snacking, because I love snacking, but sometimes no matter how hard we try to be mindful, we end up eating too much!
I used to stress eat or sometimes forget to eat. This happens way less often now.

Do you find yourself at your desk working on a project only to be consumed with hungry thoughts and then grab a snack from the vending machine?

I used to crave Ben & Jerry’

s Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. That was my comfort food, and let me tell you it was not difficult to eat the entire pint in one sitting!I would search all around NYC to find it. It is a hard flavor to find!

Do you find yourself searching and eating foods just to fill an emotional void in your life?

It could be as simple as being too busy and forgetting the basics, like drinking enough water. Maybe those “hungry” signals are just your bodies way of as

king you for more water!

We often find ourselves overeating for many different reasons… There are so many triggers out there that cause us to be “hungry”. Advertisements on TV, pictures of food on Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest, or our emotional state of being.

What becomes important is to understand our trigger points. Once we know the underlying reason why we are “hungry”, we can create small shifts, increase our energy levels and lose weight.

As a first mini step to take today when you experience a “hungry” craving ask yourself, am I really hungry?

Do you need something to eat to give your body energy and nourishment or do you just need a hug and a day off from work instead?

Remember it takes patience, love and support to create healthier eating habits.

Be okay where you are right now to help you move forward! A shift of perspective is sometimes all we need to encourage us to make healthy lifestyle choices!

What are you really hungry for in your life? I would love to hear what your answer is. Please email me today to find some time to chat this week!

Big Hugs & Health
